Description

Hydrofluoroethers are compounds composed of hydrogen, fluorine, oxygen, and carbon atoms, featuring an ether structure. They have an ozone depletion potential (ODP) of zero, a low global warming potential (GWP), and a very short atmospheric lifetime, making them considered ideal substitutes for CFCs.

Hydrofluoroethers 7100 and 7200 are listed as acceptable substitutes for CFCs on the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) Significant New Alternatives Policy (SNAP) list, designated as "Acceptable" (unrestricted use). Additionally, they have been excluded by the EPA from the volatile organic compounds (VOC) category. These substances can be used in industries such as precision instruments, electronics, semiconductors, high-end medical equipment, and aerospace manufacturing.

Features

In addition to excellent environmental properties, hydrofluoroethers also have outstanding thermal and chemical stability, moderate solubility, low toxicity, non-corrosiveness, non-flammability, and do not produce smoke or dust. They are highly compatible with various materials, easy to store and transport, and are widely used in numerous fields, including medical, electronics, metal processing, precision instruments, optical lenses, communications, and aerospace industries.

Application

  • Cleaning Agent: As a cleaning agent, this series of products has the ability to penetrate the tiny gaps of complex components. It can be used to clean particulate impurities from precision electronic parts, clean FOUPs (Front-Opening Unified Pods), LCD/OLED displays, optical parts and lenses, semiconductor etching chambers and components, remove fluorine residue buildup, clean automotive engine parts, clean aerospace engines, oxygen supply pipeline equipment, and clean medical device components.
  • Solvent: As a solvent, it can be used as a medium for airtightness testing and dielectric strength testing, as a diluent for electronic coatings and screen coatings, a diluent for fluorinated oils, fluororesins, and fluorocoatings, as a reaction solvent, and as an extraction solvent for analytical purposes.
  • Refrigerants: As refrigerants, they can be used for temperature control in dry etching devices, lithography equipment, ion beam devices, probes, and information processing equipment. They can also serve as immersion cooling refrigerants for data centers and power devices.
